Pakistan Peoples Party Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari will leave for Islamabad from Karachi on Sunday (today).

Earlier, he reached Karachi from Dubai, UAE, on Friday.

Bilawal is going to address a public gathering being organised by his party in Mirpur, Azad Kashmir, on 30 May in connection with the upcoming elections in Azad Kashmir.

The president of the party women’s wing and MNA, Faryal Talpur, informed Bilawal on Saturday about arrangements being made for the party’s public meeting in Mirpur.

It has been learnt that Asif Ali Zardari, a former president and chief of the Pakistan Peoples Party Parliamentarians, reached Dubai from London.

Former Sindh information and local government minister Sharjeel Inam Memon is stated to have started planning to end his months-long self-exile and he is likely to arrive in Dubai from London and later fly from Dubai to Karachi.

In a statement made earlier in the year, Memon had said that false and baseless cases of corruption were being instituted against him at the behest of the federal government.

He had said that the cases being lodged against him had no factual basis while they were being instituted at the behest and specific wish of the federal government.

Memon had said that he would write to the chairman of the National Accountability Bureau while requesting him to personally inquire into the false corruption cases being lodged against him.

He had said the interior ministry had placed his name on the Exit Control List (ECL) with mala fide intentions although there had been no reference of corruption against him.

While people against whom corruption references were pending, their names were not placed on the ECL, he protested.
