HYDERABAD: Sindh Rangers and Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) claimed to have arrested a close aide of slain Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) leader, Baitullah Mehsud, in a joint raid carried out in Kotri.
Additional Inspector General (AIG) CTD Sanaullah Abbasi said the terrorist identified as Meherban, son of Badshah Khan, was a close confidante of Baitullah Mehsud and was placed in the Red-Book.
The AIG said Meherban had committed grave crimes in Karachi, claiming that the accused used to send money collected through robberies to Baitullah Mehsud.
He said Meherban was arrested on leads provided by four terrorists who had been rounded up in Karachi earlier.
