SC dissatisfied over Sindh Police report, committee to investigate further

KARACHI: A two-member Supreme Court bench headed by Justice Ameer Hani Muslim heard the case regarding police involvement in crimes in the metropolis at the Karachi Registry on Monday where the Sindh Police presented its report highlighting that over 3,400 policemen have been found involved in criminal activities.

The Supreme Court was dissatisfied by the police report and ordered the formation of a committee to investigate the matter in detail. The Advocate General Sindh informed the court that a three-member committee comprising of DIG AD Khwaja, DIG Sanaullah Abbasi, and DIG Sultan Khwaja had been formed.

Additional IG Karachi, Mushtaq Meher appeared before the bench and informed the court that action has already been taken against 1,400 policemen.

The hearing was latter adjourned without specifying when the case would be taken up again.
