Ayyan Ali’s indictment deferred till September 15

RAWALPINDI: A Custom’s Court on Friday reprimanded authorities for their failure to come up with a complete charge-sheet against model Ayyan Ali in currency smuggling case in which she was to be indicted today.

Ayyan Ali appeared before the court amid tight security for the third time since her release on bail but she could not be indicted as the investigators failed to produce a complete challan.

Judge Rana Aftab Iqbal directed the custom authorities to produce a complete challan on the next hearing to be conducted on September 15.

The judge also ordered the custom officials to record complete statements of witnesses Owais and Mumtaz and to fulfill the legal requirement with regard to a petition filed in the Lahore High Court in connection with the arrest of the two men.
