LAHORE
Pakistan Awami Tehreek (PAT) Chief Dr. Tahirul Qadri said the present corrupt and cruel government was the biggest hurdle in total elimination of terrorism and extremism from the country.
Addressing the party office-bearers from Canada on Friday, he said the family politics and kitchen cabinet culture had ruined the country and complete implementation on National Action Plan was the need of the hour. He said 150 corrupt ‘big fish’ and their facilitators must be apprehended and tried in military courts. He said PAT’s patience on the Model Town tragedy should not be further tested.
Core Committee Members Dr. Hassan Mohyiuddin Qadri, Khurram Nawaz Gandapur, Basharat Jaspal, Fayyaz Warraich, Noorullah Sadique and Qazi Faiz Islam and Dr. Tahirul Qadri paid glowing tribute to the Martyrs of Peshawar Airbase incident and strongly condemned the incident of terrorism. They prayed for eternal peace for the departed souls.
The meeting expressed its concern over the arrest of PAT leader Sabir Khan and the registration of false cases against him and other PAT workers. The members were of the view that the government was using the police and registering false cases against PAT workers so as to stop them from campaigning for the Local Goverment elections. They said the state machinery and state resources were being used in the LG polls and the Election Commission must take immediate action against the ruling party for these illegal acts. He demanded that accountability of the Sharif Brothers’ must start from the murder of 14 PAT workers in Model Town tragedy. He said the Punjab CM had been covering up the mess of his minister despite solid proof of his corruption.
