The Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education (BISE) Lahore on Saturday announced the results of Intermediate Annual Examination 2015 according to which the overall pass percentage remained 60.61 percent.
The girls outperformed boys in the exam. A total of 74,815 boys had appeared in the exam out of which only 37,219 passed the exam and boys overall pass percentage remained 49.75.
A total of 78,166 girls had appeared in the exam out of which 55,501 remained successful hence their pass percentage is 71.
A total of 152,981 candidates had appeared in the exam out of which 92,720 candidates were declared successful.
The names of the high achievers were announced by the board on Friday. A medal awarding ceremony for the toppers of inter exam 2015 was held at Alhamra Hall on Saturday.
As per BISE invitation, MNA Hamza Shahbaz Sharif was expected to grace the ceremony as chief guest. However, the ceremony was presided over by Punjab Minister for Food Bilal Yasin as the chief guest. The minister awarded cash prizes and medals to the position holder students as well as their teachers.
The first, second and third position holders were awarded with gold, silver and bronze medals as well as cash prizes amounting to Rs 20,000, Rs 15,000 and Rs.10,000 respectively. The overall topper of the exam was also awarded with a laptop.
Addressing the ceremony, Bilal Yasin said the government had allocated huge funds in education sector so that educational facilities could be provided to young generation. He said according to the vision of chief minister, foreign study tours of prestigious universities were being arranged for position holder male and female students every year so that the young generation could compete with the educated nations. The minister also said the government had established an endowment fund for deserving but talented students so that such children could continue their education and play an active role in practical life.
Earlier, BISE Chairman Dr Muhammad Nasrullah Virk speaking on the occasion said the Lahore Board has been providing foolproof results since four years as per vision of the chief minister.
The parents and teachers of the high achievers and heads of the institutions attended the ceremony and appreciated the Lahore Board efforts.
Secretary Board and Controller of Examinations were also present. Meanwhile, the BISE has announced that Intermediate (Supplementary) Examination 2015 will commence from October 23, 2015. In this connection, the candidates can send their admission forms online with single fees till September 21, 2015, with double fees till September 29, 2015 and with triple fees till October 02, 2015.
