THE Punjab government Tuesday approved Rs9.516 billion scheme of shifting of utilities, LDA Department charges for execution of work, Lesco power supply interface of the Lahore Orange Line Metro Train Project other than Rs2.3 billion Punjab Youth Internship Programme (2015-16).
The approval was given in the 5th meeting of Provincial Development Working Party (PDWP) of current fiscal year 2015-16 presided over by the Punjab Chairman P&D Board Muhammad Irfan Elahi.
The meeting approved Rs25.9 billion development schemes of various sectors, which was attended by members of the Planning & Development Board, provincial secretary concerned and other senior representatives of the relevant provincial departments. According to spokesman for P&DD, the approved development schemes included: Punjab Youth Internship Programme (2015-16) at the cost of Rs2.300 billion, Lahore Orange Line Metro Train Project (Shifting of Utilities, LDA department charges for execution of work, Lesco power supply interface) at the cost of Rs9.516 billion, promotion of pulses cultivation in Punjab at the cost of Rs127.260 million, Developing Pothwar into an Olive Valley at the cost of Rs1.850 billion, extension service-2.0 farmer facilitation through modernised agriculture extension at the cost of Rs4.399.864 billion, construction of modern concrete silos of 100,000 M. tons capacity at Muzaffargrah and Bahawalpur District (Phase-I) (Revised) at the cost of Rs501.427 million, restructuring & reorganisation of breeding services in Punjab at the cost of Rs517.411 million, provision of rural poultry breeds through augmenting R&D at the cost of Rs65.751 million, delivery of better extension services to accelerate fish culture practices at the cost of Rs491.084 million, construction of district jail, Lodhran at the cost of Rs1.330.504 billion, construction of District Jail, Layyah (non-residential portion) at the cost of Rs338.574 million, establishment of satellite stations of Punjab Forensic Science Agency at divisional level at the cost of Rs302.345 million, widening/improvement of road from Killianwala to Garh Tehsil Tandlianwala, District Faisalabad at the cost of Rs266.240 million, construction of dual carriage way from Faisalabad Dry Port to Sahianwala via Chak Jhumra, District Faisalabad at the cost of Rs930.632 million, widening/improvement of road from Bhowana to Pansara Road up to Khairwala Bangla, Tehsil Bhowana, District Chiniot at the cost of Rs378.840 million, construction of Bhowana Bypass Tehsil Bhowana, District Chiniot at the cost of Rs395.407 million, rehabilitation of Chund-Lalian Road, District Jhang at the cost of Rs468.257 million, completion of remaining portion of Toba Tek Singh Road. Construction of Toba by-pass from Toba-Jhang Road to Toba-Rajana Road West-South Side, at the cost of Rs515.637 million, rehabilitation of road Lehtrar Burj via Biaga, Tehsil Kotli Sattian District Rawalpindi at the cost of Rs224.217 million, widening/rehabilitation of Lehtrar Kotli Kulliary Road, District Rawalpindi at the cost of Rs591.035 million and construction of Kahuti to Kulliary Road, Tehsil Kotli Sattian District Rawalpindi at the cost of Rs389.756 million.
