Man held for creating teenage girl’s fake Facebook account, blackmailing her father

The Federal Investigation Agency cyber crime unit arrested a man on Friday over charges of creating a fake account of teenage girl on social networking website Facebook and trying to force her father to marry her off to him.
FIA cyber crime unit deputy director Mohammad Ahmed Zaeem said his department had received a complaint from a resident of Block-13, Gulshan-e-Iqbal that a person had created his 15-year-old daughter’s fake Facebook account and posted her pictures on it.
The complainant said the person had also hacked his daughter’s account and threatening to take “violent” steps if he did not marry her off to him.
The complainant provided the link of the fake Facebook account and his daughter’s real account to the support department of the cyber crime unit.
The official said the complaint was verified and lodged with the FIA cyber crime unit against a man named Abdul Moiz.
During investigation, it was found that Abdul Moiz Ahmed Shaikh, a resident of Sawana City Apartments in Block-13D of Gulshan-e-Iqbal, sent a marriage proposal to the girls’ family.
But when they refused, her sent her pictures through Facebook to her cousin using his actual account. Then he created the girl’s fake account.
An FIA cyber crime unit team reached Flat No 604 on Floor-VII of Block C-7 in Sawana City Apartments and found Shaikh at his home.
On questioning, Shaikh confessed to having the girl’s pictures on his cell phone.
The FIA team searched his home and took his computer, laptop, cell phones, SIM, and photocopy of his identity card into custody. He also provided the passwords of his actual and fake Facebook accounts. The record of the threatening messages he had sent to the girl's father was also found in one of the accounts.
Shaikh was arrested and a case under Section 36/37 ETO 2002 420, 499 of the PPC registered against him.
