Sindh Chief Minister Syed Qaim Ali Shah was informed on Tuesday that the provincial government would complete 318 new development schemes in the province by June 30 at a total cost of Rs52 billion.
Presiding over a meeting at the CM House, he ordered the officials to submit a list of completed schemes and evolve an effective strategy to expedite development activities and secure more development targets in a financial year.
The meeting was informed that the government was giving final touches to its forthcoming annual budget 2015-16 and decided to make it more people-friendly and development- oriented to ensure socio-economic prosperity in the province.
The chief minister stressed the need for making the budget people-friendly and providing the health and education facilities to the common man.
He also asked the experts to prepare proposals for encouraging investment in agriculture, industrial and business sectors to generate more income and employment opportunities in the private sector.
Minister for Finance Syed Murad Ali Shah and officers from the planning & development, finance and excise & taxation departments, and the Sindh Revenue Board attended the meeting.
