Kidnappings on the decline
Earlier, the chief of Citizen-Police Liaison Committee (CPLC) had said that the cases of kidnapping for ransom had registered a decline in Karachi due to coordinated working of police and Rangers in the ongoing operation. Ahmed Chinoy said this while speaking to media after performing the inauguration of ‘Neighbourhood Care Project’ of the CPLC for addressing the issues of street crimes.
“We receive thousands of applications of various issues and efforts are being made to address them,” he said.

The neighbourhood care project was launched on the request of the mohallah committees to keep a close eye on the street crimes.
A neighbourhood care set-up could be erected after 10-member of the Mohallah Committee sign a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with the CPLC. The committee would provide two-room office to CPLC and the CPLC in return would provide other facilitation equipment, such as the computers.
