The health department of the Karachi Metropolitan Corporation (KMC) has started installing 35 dialysis machines in its three hospitals and will complete this work by June 30, sources at the KMC told PPI on Monday.
They said the KMC administration had started fixing the dialysis machines at Sarfaraz Rafiqui Shaheed Hospital, Landhi Medical Complex and Kidney Centre.
They said kidney patients would get free treatment in the near future after the installation of the machines.
The sources said the dialysis machines in the kidney department of the Abbasi Shaheed Hospital would also be upgraded soon to provide maximum health facilities.
They informed that Karachi Administrator Saqib Soomro was supervising the machine installation procedure and other ongoing development projects.
Senior Director Health Medical Services Dr Salma Kausar, when contacted, said the implementation of the scheme was underway.
