BSEK suspends two invigilators for negligence

The superintendent and assistant superintendent of two examination centres were suspended for alleged negligence on their part on Friday by the Board of Secondary Education Karachi (BSEK) on Friday, the fourth day of SSC annual examination.
Moreover, at least three cases of impersonation cases along with a number of cases of the use of unfair means during exam were also reported from different parts of the city.
Students in the morning shift appeared in papers of Urdu Normal, Urdu Salees and Pakistan Studies, while those in the second shift sat for their Math exams.
The controllers of examinations at BSEK, Noman Ashan, along with board’s officials visited a number of examination centres and found Mehboob Ali Lashari, the superintendent of Baldia Government Boys Secondary School, D Area in Korangi No 6, and assistant superintendent of Government Boys Secondary School, Landhi, failing to control open use of unfair means during exams.
The board officials also caught seven students red-handed at Government Boys Secondary School, Landhi No1, 18 at Iqbal Government Boys Secondary School, Landhi, and one student at Arif Hussain English Secondary School, Landhi, while using unfair means while answering questions.
Meanwhile, the board’s inspection team also traced one impersonation case from Arif Hussain English Secondary School, Landhi, and confiscated a cell phone from another.
On the other hand, the special vigilance team caught two impersonation cases, one each, at Government Boys Secondary School, Sharfabad, and Government Boys Secondary School, Nazimabad No 3.
The cases of impersonation and unfair means were forwarded to the committee concerned which will decide penalties against the accused candidates.
