BIEK to print admit cards with students’ pictures

Exams will be held in two phases, from April 28 to May 20 and May 22 to June 12

The Board of Intermediate Education Karachi (BIEK) has decided to print admit cards bearing scanned photographs of the candidates appearing in annual examinations 2015, along with their roll numbers, bar codes and complete exam schedule.
This was announced by the BIEK chairman Anwar Ahmed Zai at a press conference at the board office on Tuesday.
He said this move will prevent students from changing their examination centres at the eleventh hour.
“The inter board office has also prepared computerised enrolment and registration cards to avert forgery of these documents,” he said.
“The BIEK has also established a call centre to provide information to parents and students in this regard.”
Zai said the inter board office had engaged 600 examiners, paper moderators and tabulators and had conducted two seminars with them to be able to educated them and finalise these precautionary measures to help curb the use of unfair means in exams.
The annual examinations this year will be held in two phases, he said.
“In the first phase between April 28 to May 20, the papers of pre-engineering, medical, science general group, home economics and medical technology would be held in morning shift while papers of arts (regular and private), special candidates, diploma of physical education will take place in the afternoon shift,” he said. “The second phase of exams will be held from May 22 to June 12 for the candidates of commerce (regular and private) in the afternoon shift.”
He said the board office had deployed employees in branched of the United Bank Limited situated in Malir City, Orangi, New Karachi, UBL Building Branch, Shaheed-e-Millat Branch, Hussain D’Silva North Nazimabad, Block-A, City Branch and Korangi Industrial Area to facilities students living in far-flung areas.
He said the board was also working on establishing one-window operations in other areas as well, so people could collect their documents.
