HARIPUR: The police in Sera-e-Saleh registered a case against former General Secretary Pakistan Muslim League-N district chapter and former member of the Tehsil Council of Haripur Sajjad Khan Bagra after the strike by patwaris here on Thursday. On the call of provincial president Anjuman Patwarian Khanzada Khan Jadoon, the patwaris of the district had gone on strike. They were demanding registration of FIR and arrest of Sajjad Khan Bagra, who according to Khanzada Khan, harassed and interfered in the official work of the patwari of the Bagra patwar circle. Following a day-long strike by the patwaris, the police registered a first information report against Sajjad Khan under sections 506 and 186 of the Pakistan Penal Code. However, the accused had obtained bail before arrest from the local court. Meanwhile, Sajjad Khan denied the charges levelled against him and termed it a conspiracy by his political rivals.
