Nizam-e-Salaat to be expanded to other parts of country

ISLAMABAD; Federal Minister for Religious Affairs Sardar Muhammad Yousuf has said that following success of ‘Nizam-e-Salaat’ in the federal capital the same system would be expanded to other parts of the country also so that prayers could be offered at same times.
Addressing an Ulema convention here at the Convention Center on Tuesday, the minister said that Ulema’s role for success of the ‘Nizam-e-Salaat’ was of significant importance.
The Ulema belonging to different schools of thought were consensus of the opinion that the prayers should be offered at same timing saying that the exercise would also serve purpose of unity among the Muslims all over the country.
Sardar Yousuf said that prior to announcement of ‘Nizam-e-Salaat’ at the Faisal Mosque on May 1 in presence of Imam-e-Kaaba and President Mamnoon Hussain, all the Ulema had reached the consensus to following the system lead prayer at same timings. “A calendar about timings of prayers has already been prepared and same dispatched to management and prayers leaders of 957 mosques of Islamabad,” he said.
The minister said that a letter had also been written to the Ministry of Interior with request to ensure uniform prayers timing adding that proper arrangements for prayers should also be made at colleges and universities. He said that in the next phase they would try to implement ‘Nizam-e-Salaat in Rawalpindi with the coordination of the provincial government.
The minister said that the government would also try to implement in letter and spirit, the 13-point code of conduct as agreed by Ulema of different schools of thought.
He said that the government was also making efforts for introduction of interest-free banking system in the country and for this purpose a committee headed by Maulana Taqi Usmani was also already working.
Minister of State for Religious Affairs Pir Aminul Hasnat said that there was need to implement ‘Nizam-e-Salaat’ all over the country in order to create an atmosphere of harmony and unity. He also called upon the business community and traders to play their role for success of the system. The Ulema including Syed Arif Shirazi, Maulana Fazlur Rehman Khalil, Maulana Abdul Aziz Hanif, Maulana Iqbal Naeemi, Allama Pir Sajjad Hussain Naqvi, Qazi Khalil Ahmad, Maulana Abdul Majeed Hazarvi, Pir Naqeebur Rehman, Maulana Zahoor Alvi, Maulana Haroon Rashid, traders leader Muhammad Kashif Chaudhry and others also spoke on the occasion.
The speakers highlighted importance of ‘Nizam-e-Salaat and said that along with uniform timing for prayers, there was also need for a uniform education system in the country. They said a uniform timing for prayers would spread message of national unity among Ulema and people belonging to different schools of thought.
