RAWALPINDI: Father of Ayyan Ali has been wounded by two bike riding gunmen on Saturday morning at GT Road near Gujar Khan.
Ayyan’s father Muhammad Hafeez Raja, who was on his way to Rawalpindi from his village Baiwal to attend the hearing in his daughter’s case, was shot by unknown motorcyclists wearing helmets, police said.
Hafeez had departed from Gujar Khan on the outskirts of Rawalpindi when unknown men opened fire at him near Jinnah Hotel at GT Road.
He was later shifted to hospital in Rawalpindi where he was reported to be out of danger.
Hafeez had earlier expressed his concern to media personnel about having personal enmities and alleged after being targeted that those who were behind the money laundering are involved in the attack.
Ayyan’s father separated from her mother 10 years ago.
Talking to media after becoming stable, Raja Hafeez said he has nominated Rehman Malik’s brother, Khalid Malik in the FIR pertaining to the shooting incident. He claimed that he had been receiving threats over the past few weeks.
The people close to Raja Hafeez told media persons this is the third attack on him since Ayyan was arrested from Benazir Bhutto International Airport on March 14.
Some family members of Ayyan Ali created controversy that Muhammad Hafeez
Raja was her real father
saying that Ayyan Ali mentioned her father in FIR as Muhammad Hafeez (late) adding that Ayyan’s parents were hailing from Karachi, and she was living in Dubai with her mother for the last eight years after death of her father. However, Ayyan can clarify the reality, the sources said.
