DAGGAR: The primary teachers on Saturday threatened to stage sit-in outside the building of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa assembly in Peshawar if the government failed to meet their demands by January 31.
Talking to reporters at the press club, All Primary Teachers Association’s provincial president Abdul Ghaffar said the decision of staging sit-in was made at a meeting held at the Government Primary School Shadam in Amazai. He said that the government had deliberately ignored the teachers in promotion, depriving them of their due rights.
He said they were appointed as primary school teachers after having qualification of secondary school certificate in 80s. He urged the government to upgrade them to scale 15 or else 11,000 male and female teachers would stage sit-in before the Assembly Hall in Peshawar on January 31.
