Islamabad : All government hospitals in the federal capital have been put on alert over the outbreak of coronavirus.
According to a notification issued here on Friday, the Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences, Polyclinic and other government hospitals will remain on a high until further orders in the wake of coronavirus outbreak that has claimed 10 lives in the country.
Islamabad's district administration has already imposed a partial lockdown in the city from March 25.
In a notification, the district administration banned all kinds of public gatherings and ordered to close markets, shopping malls, restaurants and private offices.
The authority suspended public transport in the capital city, whereas Metro bus service will be available to residents from 8:30am to 10:30am and 3:00pm to 5:30pm daily.
Prime Minister Imran Khan on Thursday visited coronavirus isolation centre in Islamabad and examined facilities. The centre consists of 50 beds for suspected and confirmed coronavirus patients.
