Islamabad:A friendly football match was played between the DOSTI team and the Mehran Women FC team. The match was organised by the British Council as part of a visit programme which it is hosting for five British MPs who are visiting British Council Pakistan to see the operations which are undertaken by it in the field of Education, Culture, Arts and Society.
The British Council organised the football match as an opportunity for the delegation to meet DOSTI team members and the work of Sports, soft skills in countering violence.
The Country Director of British Council Pakistan Mr. Peter Upton commented on the match and the DOSTI programme saying “ I am delighted to see that sports is playing such a vital role in addressing topics and situations which normally would be difficult to address if they were left for dialogue only, the DOSTI programme brings sports to these children in such a manner that it helps them to create a method of communication and problem/conflict resolution which cannot be created with table talks”.**
