Islamabad : The federal education ministry has announced that the students across Islamabad will resume in-person learning in their respective educational institutions on August 2 under strict enforcement of standard operating procedures (SOPs) for the prevention and control of coronavirus.
“All private educational institutions in Islamabad shall be re-opened with effect from August 2 after summer vacation,” a notification issued by the ministry said.
The classes will resume in strict compliance with precautionary measures against COVID-19 such as use of face masks and maintaining of social distancing.
Students will be called on 50% attendance every day, while classes will be held from 8am to 1pm.
Unvaccinated teachers and staff members will not allowed entry to campus.
Teams of the district administration will make surprise visits to educational institutions to ensure COVID-19 vaccination of staff and SOP compliance.
People violating the orders will be punished.
The notification added that the vaccination deadline for school staff was July 31.
Earlier this week, a meeting of the federal and provincial education authorities decided that summer vacations won't be extended and that examinations of classes nine and 10 would held as per schedule.
Schools across Pakistan are closed right now over rising coronavirus cases.
Earlier this year, the federal government decided to hold exams of classes five, eight, nine, 10, 11, and 12. Students of all other grades have been passed without exams.
