The second episode of the Sound Spirit, a series of musical performances by both young and established artists, was held at the Arts Council on Saturday.
The event took place at two different venues of the council in two different stages and continued till midnight.
The first session of the programme featured young individuals and bands, including Mahnoor Sehar, Newton Mushtaq, Muneeb, Hassan Asif, Abdul Rafay, Waeez Wajid, Noor Latif, rubab player Zain, Rimsha Qureshi, Sami Amiri, Khizer with Team, Jam Bro'z, Osaid Tabrez Band, Gumaan Band and Qirtas Band. The session was concluded with a drum circle performance curated by Shams-ul-Arifeen.
The second session took place on the main stage and featured spirited performances of Afaq Adnan, Shahid Rehman, Intezar Hussain, Bilal Brohi, Nimra Rafiq, Ali Asad, Arman Rahim, Mustafa Khan, and Mustafa Baloch. The vibrant performances of emerging bands included Karachi Orchestra featuring Mahi Dahi & Wahab Bhugti, Kashmir Band, ACMA The Band and Hashtags.
Arts Council President Ahmed Shah, governing body members and Consul General of Turkey Tolga Uchak also attended the event.
Addressing the ceremony, Ahsan Bari, the director of the programme, said Sound Spirit aimed at creating a platform for the new talents to enhance their skills and promoting cultural activities in the city.
