LAHORE Partly cloudy weather was witnessed in the city here on Saturday while Met office predicted similar weather with chances of rain during the next 24 hours.

Met officials said that a shallow westerly wave was affecting upper parts of the country while moist currents from Arabian Sea were also penetrating in central and upper parts of the Country.

They predicted that hot and dry weather was expected in most parts of the country while very hot in plain areas. However, rain-wind-thunderstorms are expected at isolated places in upper Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Gilgit Baltistan.

Rainfall was recorded in several cities including Rawalpindi (Chaklala 34, Shamsabad 12), Islamabad (Zero Point 29, Saidpur 20, Bokra, Airport 09, Golra 07), Sialkot (Airport 22, City 14), Narowal 17, Gujrat, Joharabad 14, Murree 13, Sargodha 08, Noorpurthal 05, Gujranwala, Mandi Bahauddin, Mangla 04, Hafizabad, Kasur 03, Attock, Okara 02, Chakwal 01, Kashmir: Muzaffarabad (Airport 27, City 23), Garhi Dupatta 23, Rawalakot 19, Kotli 05, Balakot 16, Kakul, Pattan 05, Cherat, Lower Dir, Saidu Sharif 04, Astore 03 and Bagrote 02.

Saturday's highest maximum temperature was recorded at Sibbi where mercury reached at 47°C while in Lahore it was 36°C and minimum was 23.8°C.
