QUETTA: The CTD Police Balochistan has gunned down a wanted terrorist of the ISKP, Daesh, during an operation in Goharabad, Saryab in the provincial capital. The terrorist was wanted for several attacks and murers of Police officers and members of the Hazara community in Quetta, the CTD spokesperson claimed.
According to the spokesperson of CTD Balochistan, the CTD was informed about the presence of the wanted ISKP (Daesh) terrorist Fazal ur Rehman Alias Shaan. An IBO was conducted but as the police surrounded Fazal ur Rehman’s hideout in Goharabad area located in jurisdiction of Saryab Police Station in Quetta, the terrorists hurled grenades and opened volley of fire at the police.
In the ensuring gun battle, the ISKP terrorist Fazal ur Rehman was killed, while a CTD officer was injured in the cross fire. The terroirst was wanted for several killings of police officials and members of the Hazara community. The CTD Police recovered 10 kg explosives, two grenades, one SMG and a 30 bore pistol with assorted rounds. Further action against the suspected ISKP sleeper cells and hideouts are underway, the CTD Spokesman confirmed.
An FIR of the incident has been lodged in Police Station CTD Quetta, he said. The terrorist who has been the target killer of the ISKP worked with one of the lethal leaders of Daesh network, Mumtaz Pehlwan, sources told The News.
