Seminar on personal hygiene held

Islamabad: A seminar on personal hygiene ‘Safai Nifs Eeman Hai’ was held in Margalla Town here on Saturday by Mashal at ‘Gosha-e-Mashal'.

The event was organised and hosted by Dr. Tahmeena Hyder who is the medical director of Mashal Association. Dr. Farah Fakir was the speaker at the event and she highlighted the benefits of personal hygiene and its effects on our social and religious life. The goal of the seminar was to educate and enlighten the women and children of ‘kachi abadi’ about personal hygiene.

The programme started with the recitation of verses from the Holy Quran, following by 'Naat' and then by a national song by the students of school run at ‘Gosha-e-Mashal.’ The ‘Gosha-e-Mashal’ Complex comprises a fully-equipped medical unit, an education centre, an industrial home and a vocational training centre.

The event was attended by the members and Mashal President Shahida Azeem and Secretary Mrs. Mughal Qureshi. Many doctors, teachers, students, women and children of Margalla Town attended the seminar.

Dr. Tahmina, while talking to ‘The News,’ said that they will continue to hold such seminars regularly to make women and children aware of the important topics and techniques. “Holding such events is a team work of our educational and medical departments along with our members and directors,” she said.

Mashal is an association based in Islamabad. It is an annually audited non-governmental organization (NGO) working for the uplift of the underprivileged women and children. It was officially registered and recognised as a social welfare Association on August 31, 1988. Mrs. Shahida Azeem is the founding president and moving spirit behind the organisation. The Association is non-political, non-sectarian welfare agency. Mashal members are a group of hardworking volunteers and they are doing their best to improve the lives of the people they touch.
