For monitoring the 12 most sensitive districts of the province a latest control room has been set up at CPO office, which will be directly commanded by Punjab IGP Mushtaq Ahmad Sukhera.
The IGP will monitor all the processions in these districts. The sensitive districts include Lahore, Rawalpindi, Jhang, Rahimyar Khan, Gujranwala, Faisalabad, Multan, DG Khan, Bahawalnagar, Chakwal and Pakpattan.
Talking to the media, the IGP said 1,158 religious personalities will be banned to enter different cities, 641 will remain under gag. He said on Muharram 7, 150,267 security officials performed security duties whereas on Muharram 9 it will be 164,302 and on Muharram 10 200,658 officers and officials will perform duties. To a question about the security of prime minister of Pakistan, the IGP said it was the joint responsibility of the federal and provincial agencies.
