Karak residents demand power, gas supply amid lockdown
KARAK: Local rights organisations on Thursday demanded the government and district administration to ensure uninterrupted power and gas supply to consumers in the district. The demand was made by the Kanda Ittehad, Chountra Ittehad and Karak Development Movement in a joint statement. The statement, issued by Qari Badur Islam on behalf of the organizations, said that unprecedented power and gas load-shedding in the district was unfair at a time when people were observing lockdown in their houses. He said people in other parts of the country were watching television and attending online classrooms at homes, but the people of Karak were facing power outages. He said Peshawar Electric Supply Company (Pesco) must ensure power supply to all areas of the district during the ongoing lockdown due to the coronavirus outbreak so that people could stay at homes with ease.
