KARACHI: Pakistan’s tennis ace Aisam-ul-Haq Qureshi and his Italian partner Simon Bolleli moved into the quarter-finals of Aegon Open, Nottingham, United Kingdom on Tuesday.
The unseeded duo of Aisam-Simon, ranked 57 and 11, respectively, stunned third seed Colombian pair of Juan Sebastian Cabal and Robert Farah, ranked 30 and 34, respectively, 7-6 (6), 2-6, 10-8 in the first round of men’s doubles category of this ATP-250 championship with grass surface.
The duo will nowface the wildcard pair of Eric Butorac of the US and Colin Fleming of UK, ranked 37 and 95, respectively, in the quarters.
It is to be noted that Aisam and his regular partner Gilles Muller from Luxembourg are heading towards Wimbledon, and this event on grass is part of their preparations for the grand slam.
