CM calls for checking prices ahead of Ramazan
PESHAWAR: Chief Minister Mahmood Khan on Wednesday directed all district administrations in the province to start checking prices of essential items ahead of Ramazan and take action against those involved in hoarding.
He also directed the district administrations, police and tehsil municipal administrators to initiate crackdown against the use of polythene bags in the province at the sub-divisional and divisional level.
These directives were issued by the chief minister after a briefing on the administrative matters in the province at the Chief Minister’s Secretariat, Peshawar.
He was informed that legal action had been initiated against 80 polythene bag retailers in the province whereas a report on the prices of edible items would be submitted to the chief minister on a daily basis.
Commenting on the governance in the province, the chief minister stated that all-out efforts should be made to ensure that the government and state perform as per the desires of the people.
“We have to establish our governance along the lines of Riasat-e-Madina as per the vision of Prime Minister Imran Khan,” said Mahmood Khan.
The chief minister was also briefed on the “Clean and Green” drive being carried out in the province. He was informed that a total of 14 million saplings had been distributed and planted till March.
The meeting was informed that the Clean and Green drive is also being carried out with great zeal and enthusiasm in the newly-merged districts which is evident from the fact that 22,000 saplings were planted in Waziristan on the first day of the Clean and Green Pakistan drive.
In a separate meeting, the chief minister also stated that four shelter homes would be inaugurated at the regional headquarters during the next 15 days.
