World moot on Kashmir’s Islamic history, culture on Thursday

Islamabad: The National History and Literary Heritage Division with the collaboration of the OIC Research Center for Islamic History, Art and Culture (IRCICA) and the government of Azad Jammu and Kashmir is organising the International Congress on Islamic History, Culture and Heritage of Kashmir from April 4 to 5 at a hotel here.

The IRCICA is a subsidiary organ of the Organisation of the Islamic Conference (OIC) that was set up in 1980. It is an international institution active in the fields of research, publishing, documentation, and information.

President of Pakistan Dr Arif Alvi will inaugurate the opening session of the congress in which experts and scholars from the OIC member states will participate. The congress is expected to be attended by about 200 scholars, diplomats, academia, dignitaries & professionals from the Government of Pakistan and the Government of AJ&K.

The organisers said the Annual program of IRCICA 2018 proposed that the center make studies to assess the situation of Islamic architectural heritage in Jammu and Kashmir. They said the IRCICA proposed to hold an International Congress in Pakistan on this topic in collaboration with NH&LH Division and government of Azad Jammu and Kashmir.
