NOWSHERA: A mobile veterinary clinic of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Livestock Department visited Kheshgi Union Council, Nowshera, and vaccinated dozens of cows, buffaloes and other cattle.
Local farmers and cattle-owners in Nowshera districts had asked the provincial government to take emergency steps against some seasonal diseases in cows and buffaloes.
The veterinary doctors administered vaccines to cows, buffaloes, goats and sheep at Zamandzai, Kheshgi Payan village.
The locals were informed through loudspeakers about the mobile veterinary clinic.
Besides visiting each dairy farm in the locality, the veterinary doctors vaccinated and dewormed cows, buffaloes, goats and sheep in the houses.
Dr Akhtar Munir, who was leading the mobile veterinary clinic, said they were visiting each village that on behalf of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Livestock Department to deworm the cattle and vaccinate the house-hold animals.
He said that the vaccines are being administered at Rs10 and emergency treatment to the cattle was being provided on an emergency basis. The veterinary doctors also gave guidelines and precautionary measures to farmers against certain diseases in the livestock.
