Newly-built Naulakha police station building inaugurated

LAHORE: In a bid to provide better working conditions to the police employees for better service delivery, the state-of-the-art newly-built building of historical Naulakha police station was inaugurated here on Wednesday.

Mother of Shaheed DIG Captain(R) Syed Ahmad Mobeen inaugurated the building as a chief guest. Lahore police is concentrating on phase-wise improvement of police stations and Badamibagh police station would also get its new building in a couple of days.

Mother of Shaheed DIG despite her old age and illness participated in inaugural ceremony and she was welcomed with full police protocol and honor.

Capital City Police Officers Lahore BA Nasir, DIG Operations Muhammad Waqas Nazir, DIG Investigation Inaam Waheed, DIG Security Imran Ahmar, CTO Lahore Captain (R) Liaqat Ali Malik, SSP Operations Lahore Captain (R) Mustansir Feroze, SSP Admin Muntazer Mehdi, all divisional SPs and other high ranking police officers and officials were present.

The building is comprised of state of the art four stories alongwith a basement and covering total area of 12-kanal, 7-marlas and 15-sqr/ft. The building has been completed in 139 million rupees whereas its approved cost of construction was Rs 144 million. Speaking on the occasion, CCPO BA Nasir lauded the efforts of IG Punjab Police Amjad Javed Saleemi and support of the Punjab government for taking keen interest in completion of this splendid multi-storey and multipurpose building in short period of 24 months.

He said Naulakha Police Station is a beautiful addition in the existing modern Police buildings of the city. BA Nasir said that Lahore Police has started a new tradition to inaugurate the buildings of police department by the heirs of the police Shuhada. He said no new building of Lahore Police will have the name plate of any serving Police officer. He highlighted the important role of public in crime control and maintenance of law and order in the city. “Anywhere in the world, Police cannot get any success in crime control without cooperation and support of public,” he said. The CCPO paid tributes to 305 officers and officials of Lahore Police who sacrificed their lives in the line of duty. He stressed the need to give due respect and honour to the families of martyrs. He said all available resources of the department are being utilised for the welfare of low grade officials at police stations level. DIG Operations Lahore Muhammad Waqas Nazir expressed his heartiest gratitude for the mother of martyred DIG Syed Ahmad Mobeen who graced the inaugural ceremony in her old age. He said that presently 12 new buildings of Police Stations of Lahore are under construction. “Any given targets cannot be achieved without providing better working conditions to the Police officers and officials,” he said.
