FUMC celebrates World Health Day

Foundation University Medical College (FUMC) organised World Health Day Celebrations 2015 here on Tuesday.
Rector Foundation University Islamabad, Major General (r) Khadim Hussain was the chief guest while Principal Foundation University Medical College, Major General (r) Dr. Nasim ul Majeed was also present on the occasion. The purpose of the event was to create awareness among the masses about World Health Day in general and regarding Food Safety in particular. The event included power point presentations, short video, drama as well as posters and models exhibition.
While addressing the gathering, the Rector FUI said that we should be conscious of the fact that prevention is better than cure. “It is heartening to see that faculty and students of FUMC are contributing towards the health awareness activities and thereby FUMC stands out as a distinguished institution among the medical colleges of the country,” he said.
The rector said that the global public health campaigns offer great potential to raise awareness and understanding about health issues and mobilise support for action, from the local community to the international stage. Today’s activity has further enhanced the knowledge of all of us on an issue which is there but not given due priority,” he added.
Major General (r) Khadim Hussain also inaugurated and visited the posters and models exhibition. While congratulating the students who have participated in different activities of the event, he said that performance of the students is reflective of their hard work and devotion for which they genuinely deserve appreciation. He also admired the role of faculty in the success of such awareness activities. In the end, Rector FUI distributed certificates among the participants of various activities.
