It has been almost two months since the inauguration of the new Islamabad Airport. Residents of the twin cities – Rawalpindi and Islamabad – can reach the airport easily because they are aware of what routes to take. However if you are a stranger in the city and happen to follow the road signs to reach the new airport, chances are that you will end up at the old Benazir Airport.
If you travel along the Kashmir Highway or the Islamabad Expressway, you will notice that almost all airport signs are leading to the old airport. Although a number of new signs – leading to the new airport – have been placed beyond Golra Mor, it is not sufficient enough to guide passengers. The relevant department must look into this issue.
