The Sindh government has convened a meeting on Monday to promote senior employees of the Sindh Technical Education and Vocational Training Authority (STEVTA) from grade 19 to grade 20 on the recommendation of the Departmental Promotion Committee (DPC). Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah will chair the meeting.

Last year, STEVTA officials prepared seniority lists of employees working in various cadres, including lecturers, instructors, engineers and others. They also recommended the authorities to promote the employees to upper grades.

STEVTA Director Liaquat Ali Jamro told The News on Saturday that the Sindh government was planning to promote employees to upper grade because most of the employees were deprived of promotions.

However, som employees were creating hurdles for their own colleagues and spreading misleading information in the media aimed to distract the smooth process of promotions. He maintained that the seniority lists were prepared by the STEVTA directorate of administration in pursuance of rule 9(1) of the Sindh’s Civil Servants Rules. The authority would not accept any illegal promotion of any employee without fulfilling the criteria, he said.
