ISLAMABAD: Up to 33 judges of the lower judiciary of Islamabad have challenged a
March 28, 2018 federal government notification before the Islamabad High Court (IHC) through which an earlier notification dated September 26, 2008 regarding eligibility of the judicial officers for allotment of government accommodation was withdrawn.
The petitioners included 3 district & session judges (DSJs), 9 additional district & session judges (ADSJs), 4 senior civil judges and 17 civil judges cum magistrates of Islamabad judiciary.
Petitioners contended that they are serving as judicial officers at Islamabad and they are eligible and entitled for allotment of government accommodation. Government accommodation was provided to them and monthly rent is being deducted from their salaries.
