The nightmare returns
The rise in street crimes in Karachi has once again tampered with the city’s peace. People are being robbed of their valuable items almost on a daily basis. No part of the city is safe from robbers who roam freely on the streets and rob people at gunpoint. Different CCTV footage have shown how criminals have been successful in fleeing the crime scene right in front of police officials. It seems that they are well-trained and know how to escape from the long arms of the law.
In order to deal with the issue, the authorities have to analyse the root cause that gives rise to street crimes. There is no denying that economic imbalances and acute poverty are one of the primary causes behind the rapid increase in street crimes. It is the responsibility of the government to take immediate action to bring peace back to the city. Living in a peaceful and safe environment is one of the basic rights of the residents of Karachi.
