Spring festival from March 23

Rawalpindi : The city district government, Rawalpindi has decided to celebrate Jashan-e-Baharan from March 23 to April 1, 2018.

Musical programmes, flowers exhibition, food stalls, ladies gala, dog show and talk shows will be included in the festival.

Entry in Public Park will be free during the festival from March 23 to April 1.

Parks and Horticultural Authority Managing Director Captain (r) Anwar-ul-Haq told ‘The News’ that more than 70 per cent arrangements have been completed to celebrate Jashan-e-Baharan in Public Park.

He said that we would introduce a beautiful ‘Punjab Garden’ during the spring festival. We are establishing a new ‘Punjab Garden’ where more than 300,000 flowers of different kinds are planting. It will be a first garden of its kind throughout the country.

We are establishing ‘Punjab Garden’ on 2.5 acre land in Public Park, he said. He said that there will be strict security arrangements during the festival. Security cameras have been installed in every nook and corner of the park to monitor people’s activities.

We are arranging fine swings for children in the festival. He said that it will be a full family oriented programme.

The park would be was decorated with colourful lights and bunting. The local art students are taking park in decorating the Park for the festival, he said.
