National shuttlers begin CW Games preparation from Feb 25
KARACHI: National shuttlers will begin their preparations for the Commonwealth Games from February 25 at the Pakistan Sports Complex, Islamabad.“We have been invited to the camp on February 25,” a player told ‘The News’ on Wednesday.
As many as four shuttlers, national champion Murad Ali, former national champion Hafiz Irfan Saeed, reigning national champion Mahoor Shehzad and current national runner-up Palwasha Bashir, have already been selected for the Commonwealth Games slated to be held in Gold Coast, Australia, from April 4-15.
Murad will make his Commonwealth Games debut. The rest were part of the previous edition held in Glasgow in 2014.An 89-member contingent of Pakistan will feature in ten disciplines in the event: badminton, squash, shooting, hockey, wrestling, weightlifting, wrestling, athletics, swimming and table tennis.
