CHITRAL: The councillors have asked the provincial government to honour its commitment of upgrading the basic pay scale of the village secretaries to BS-14.

In a statement issued to media, village nazim Gohriyat council Shazada Shujaul Zaman, Abdul Qadir of Dnain-I, Shabuddin of Dnain-II council and others said that Chief Minister Pervez Khattak had pledged to upgrade the basic pay scales of the village secretaries.

They said that a matriculated person was recruited as a clerk in BS-14 while graduation was set as qualification criteria for appointment of a village council secretary but were recruited in BS-7, which they termed as unjust. They also demanded regularisation of the services of village council secretary as well.
