IIU offers help for promotion of Arabic
Islamabad: The International Islamic University (IIU) commemorated the World Day of the Arabic language on Wednesday.
During a ceremony held here on Faisal Masjid campus of the university to celebrate the day, IIU President Dr. Ahmed Yousif Al-Draiweesh urged the Muslim societies to devise a strategy for promotion of Arabic language to have best comprehension of Islamic values and achievements. He said Arabic was a source of unity among the Muslims, which introduced them to their legacy.
"Arabic language should be taught to youths. We (IIU) will cooperate with all institutions on this respect," he said. The ceremony was also attended by the Deputy Ambassador of Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (KSA), Ambassador of Sudan, Cultural attaché of KSA, Representative diplomat from United Arab Emirates (UAE) , Senator Talha Mehmood, University Vice President Dr. Aqdas Naveed Malik, Dean Arabic Dr. Muhammad Bashir , foreign and local faculty members and a large number of students.
