Three women, infant injured in beauty salon firing

LAHORE: Three women and a minor girl of a family suffered bullet wounds when unknown bikers opened indiscriminate firing at a beauty parlour at Karim Park, Shafiqabad police jurisdiction, on Saturday afternoon.

Two bikers reached the parlour and opened indiscriminate firing, injuring the victims identified as Parveen Akhtar, her daughter-in-law Chanda, daughter Sidra and an infant girl, Noor Fatima. The condition of Parveen is stated to be critical as she sustained eight bullet wounds.

The others suffered minor injuries. Police failed to arrest the fleeing attackers. SP City Adil Memon, ruling out the incident an act of terrorism, said that Parveen Akhtar had a land dispute with her nephews. He said both parties were in litigation over the dispute.

Man commits suicide: A man committed suicide over a domestic dispute in the Badami Bagh police on Saturday. Police said the man, Sajjad, committed suicide following a scuffle with his wife.

He was father of a daughter. Police have removed the body to morgue. Investigations are underway.Two cars, 12 bikes stolen: Four bikes were snatched while eight bikes and two cars were lifted in various parts of the city on Saturday.

Four bikes were snatched in the areas of Mughalpura, Liaqatabad, Harbanspura and Gujjarpura. Eight bikes were lifted in the areas of Shahdara, Qila Gujjar Singh, Mughalpura, Sanda, Sattukatla, Chung, Nishtar Colony and Batapur. Two cars were stolen in the areas of Shahdara and North Cantt.

Citizens robbed of cash, valuables: A number of people were deprived of cash and valuables in different incidents of robbery on Saturday. Robbers took away valuables worth Rs 97,000 from the house of one Irfan in the Gulshan Ravi area and valuables worth Rs 40,0000 from the shop of one Afzal in the Naseerabad area.

Robbers robbed one Ishfaq of Rs 120,000 in the Manawan area, Hamza of Rs 5,000 in Township, Noman of Rs 50,000 in Lytton Road, Umar of Rs 40,000 in Defence B and Saif of Rs 6,000 in the Shahdara area.
