‘KP RTI law promoting transparency’

PESHAWAR: An official said on Friday that the Right to Information (RTI) Law had played a vital role in promoting transparency and accountability in all the public bodies of the province.
This was stated by Chief Information Commissioner, Azmat Hanif Aurakzai during a session arranged for the Public Information Officers of Nowshera and Mardan districts in Nowshera. The training session was organized by the Right to Information Commission to train the PIOs on the management of information requests which were filed by the citizens before the public bodies.
He said the PIO was the lynchpin in the implementation of the RTI law, therefore it was essential for PIO to be fully keep abreast with the procedure of dealing the information requests.
