PCSW meeting
Lahore: A meeting of divisional coordinators was called at Punjab Commission on the Status of Women (PCSW) on Friday.
Chairperson Fauzia Viqar was apprised of activities and progress made by divisional coordinators in their respective divisions. She advised them to play a proactive role by working with the district government and local law enforcement authorities to protect women’s rights and prevent instances of violence.
Fauzia Viqar said that stringent application of PCSW’s mandate was the key to bridging the gap between government offices and the general public. She urged the divisional coordinators to develop strong liaison with departments to obtain status updates regarding cases and incidents involving women.
The project manager (GMIS) discussed methods used by the divisional coordinators to collect data related to women from all 36 districts across Punjab, and various initiatives taken by all coordinators in the previous financial year, including inter alia promotion of Punjab Women’s Helpline (1043).
