Pak lawyer in ICJ grilled by ill-informed people
ISLAMABAD: The response to International Court of Justice (ICJ)’s interim order on Kulbhushan Yadav’s death sentence has received exacting response in Pakistan and its lawyer was grilled only because people were ill-informed about Pakistan’s lawyer in ICJ.
Khawar Qureshi is a seasoned lawyer and is sought after in international legal conflicts and issues and India hired him in the past which shows his worth. “But that only establishes that he is sought after and demolishes the claim that he is a non-entity. In any event when he acted for India there was no conflict of interest in doing so”, says a friend close to Khawar. Yadav’s case in ICJ has opened new horizons for Pakistan as even Indian retired judge has also revealed so.
Former judge in the Supreme Court of India, Markanday Katju expressed his concerns over the repercussions that India might have to face due to its actions of involving the International Court of Justice in the Kulbhushan Yadav case. He said it was certain that Pakistan would be approaching the International Court of Justice to decide the Kashmir issue.
