ISLAMABAD: Mukhtar, main character of alleged gang involved in women trafficking, sex-slavery and fake marriages, has been released on bail.

However, Farzana who has been allegedly abducted and sold to Afghanistan by the same gang, remains unrecovered despite the suo moto notice of the Chief Justice of Pakistan. Farzana has been missing for six months.

Talking to The News, Raja Muhammad Akram Advocate who presented Arshed’s case in the court to oppose Mukhtar’s bail plea said the police have presented a very weak challan before the court. He added that the court had no option but to grant bail to Mukhtar as according to Police investigation it is Farzana and her husband who were part of the gang involved in looting people through fake Nikkah and they were habitual.

“If police is with you then no court can punish you no matter how heinous crime you have committed. Farzana’s case is the recent example, in which this theory has been applied as the main characters of the women trafficking case has been released on bail”, he commented.

This scribe when contacted CPO Rawalpindi to get his version over what The victim's party said, he asserted that the police are doing its job fairly. The CPO, however, said that he was unaware about the content of the challan produced before the court.

But he insisted, “The police have presented the facts before the court and it is the court which has to take decision. I was not aware about this latest development that the main accused has been granted bail but since it was court’s decision so I cannot comment on it.”

Meanwhile Muhammad Arshed, Farzana’s husband, sounds frustrated about the non recovery of his wife despite the lapse of six months.

When contacted, he claimed that his relatives including his brother approached the Investigative Officer of this case to know the update of Farzana’s recovery. But instead of telling them about the steps being taken by police to recover Farzana, the officer threatened them to withdraw this case otherwise they (police) will make him an example.

“The Investigative Officer asked my relatives to withdraw from this case otherwise we have five different fake “Nikkah Namas” of Farzana which she (Farzana) did with various people and then looted them. We will make sure that the entire family is made an example as we have sufficient evidences against Farzana and her husband”, Arshed narrated ASI’s remarks.

The News approached ASI but he did not attended the calls despite various attempts. The police, however, denied all these charges. Another police official on the condition of anonymity informed The News   that they could do nothing for Farzana’s recovery as she is in other country.

“None of our team has visited Afghanistan as it is impossible for the police to go there. All we can do is pray because the ground realities in Afghanistan are not the same as in Pakistan. We also don’t know the location where her abductors have kept her therefore it is useless to go there,” informed the police official attached with this case.

Muhammad Arshed told this correspondent that he has completely lost all his hopes and the only option he has left is to commit suicide along with his comments.

“Our case has been taken up by the highest court of the country and even then if we could not get justice, we have left with no other option. It’s almost sixth month now and nobody can even imagine the pain and miseries of my two daughters that how are they living without their mother”, he commented.
