Three polio workers kidnapped in Tank

TANK: Three members of a polio team, including their in-charge, have been kidnapped by some unknown armed persons in the FR Tank district of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

According to Levies sources, on the second day of polio campaign that was started in the FR Tank, a polio team in-charge Sanaullah, polio worker Raqeebullah and one other person were abducted by some persons in Dewan Baba, a village of KP.

Political administration said one polio worker has been recovered while efforts are under way for the recovery of polio in-charge. A grand Jirga of tribal elders has also been convened in this connection. 

According to another report, Frontier Corps Khyber Pakhtunkhwa on Wednesday foiled a possible bid of terrorism by seizing a huge cache of arms from the Regi Lalma area. According to the FC, the arms were recovered during a search operation conducted in the Regi Lalma area.

The recovered arms included four handmade IEDs, two anti-personnel timed IEDs, four explosive sticks, 10 metre safety fuses and four 60 mm mortar shells. All the explosives were defused by the FC on the spot.  Meanwhile in Mardan, the Counter-terrorism Department claimed to have rounded up a facilitator of terrorists during a search operation at the Charsadda Chowk.

On a tip-off, the CTD raided a hideout at the Charsadda Chowk on Wednesday and arrested a facilitator of terrorists and recovered a cell-phone from his possession used in kidnapping. The detainee was identified as Fazal Haque. The facilitator helped the terrorists in providing the cell-phone SIM, the department said. The detainee was shifted to an undisclosed location for further investigation.
