Four mortars fired from Afghan side land in Kurram
MIRANSHAH: A soldier was martyred and two others sustained injuries in a roadside blast in Shawal in North Waziristan Agency, official sources said on Sunday.
The security forces were clearing a road in Shawal when their vehicle hit a roadside landmine, the sources said, adding, a soldier was martyred and two others were injured as a result of the explosion.
The security forces cordoned off the area after the blast and launched a search operation to apprehend those involved in the attack. There was no news if any arrests were made. Meanwhile, media reports said four mortar shells fired from the Afghan side landed in Kurram Agency. However, no loss was reported.
