Says journey is long, arduous, but not impossible; promises enrolment of every child in school, elimination of poverty, joblessness, ignorance, extortion,

corruption, injustice

LAHORE

Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif, on the occasion of historic Pakistan Day, promised with the nation that he will not sit idle till the enrolment of every child in school, elimination of poverty and joblessness, ignorance, extortion, corruption, injustice as well as eradication of system of plunder.

The chief minister expressed these views while talking to a delegation of Pakistan Muslim League-N members who called on him Thursday. He said today is an important day in the history of Pakistan; in this struggle, every section of society should support me and we will complete this difficult journey as a team.

We will move forward with honesty and hard work, while following the historic Pakistan Resolution. We will make the country a true welfare Islamic state, according to the concepts of founders of Pakistan, where every citizen enjoys equal opportunities to excel in life without any discrimination of caste or colour; where justice, merit and the rule of law are supreme and we will move forward by learning from past mistakes to achieve the goal. This journey is long and arduous, but not impossible, and I believe that by reviving the spirit of Pakistan Resolution and Pakistan Movement, we can achieve this destination.

Muslims from across the India, gathered at Minto Park, Lahore under the leadership of Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah on 23rd of March, 1940; and the Muslims succeeded in getting a separate homeland under the dynamic leadership of Quaid-e-Azam within seven years. All the people were united and committed and were engaged in the struggle for a noble cause.

There was no Shia, Barelvi or Ahle Hadith or Deobandi; all were united to struggle for a separate homeland. He said we should review that 77 years have past to this historic day, whether we have made justice with Quaid-e-Azam and the immortal sacrifices of martyrs of the Pakistan Movement? He said it is my promise on this historic day that socio-economic justice will be provided. The system of plunder, joblessness and poverty will be eliminated. The public trust will not be shattered at any cost.

He said the PML-N government had served the people with dedication and this journey of public service would also continue in the future. We have promoted corruption-free culture in the province and all the projects are being completed transparently, he said, adding that we will move forward by following the glowing principles of hard work and dedication to make the country Pakistan of Iqbal and the Quaid, where justice will prevail, he concluded.

TB: Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif has said in his message on the eve of International TB Awareness Day that the purpose of celebrating the day is to create public awareness about the treatment and protection from this disease. There is a need that healthcare professionals should adopt effective steps for the treatment of TB. He said tuberculosis is a curable disease; adding that clean environment, healthy food, as well as medicines, is prerequisite for the treatment of TB.

London attack: Shahbaz Sharif has condemned the incident of attack outside the British parliament in London. He expressed his deep grief over the loss of precious human lives and expressed his sympathies with the heirs of the persons who have lost their lives.
