The Sindh governor has called for efforts to enhance industrial and business activities in the province, terming such moves essential for sustainable socio-economic development of Sindh and its people.
These views were expressed by Sindh Governor Mohammad Zubair during a meeting with a delegation of the Pakistan Business Council (PBC) at the Governor House on Tuesday.
The governor urged the meeting participants to draw up plans that could pave the way for solid enhancement of Sindh’s industrial and business potential.
He assured them of all possible cooperation from the government to make sure that all such ventures reached the execution level and contribute towards the province’s prosperity.
Governor Zubair told the delegates that Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif had been endeavouring with sincerity to ensure progress and development across the country and was working day and night to achieve this most important of goals.
He said new motorways were being constructed in accordance with all international standards and would serve as a vital cog in efforts to modernise Pakistan’s communication networks.
Terming the metropolis a ‘mini-Pakistan, the governor also spoke of the massive economic and industrial potential of the provincial capital, Karachi. He cited the restoration of law and order in the city as a key reason for increasing foreign investments that have helped activate local industries.
Zubair said the improving situation warranted concerted efforts to carve out a place for Karachi on the international trade scene. He asked the industrialists to come up with working papers regarding problems of their respective areas and assured them that the government would help resolve all highlighted issues.
