The Syrian war

An estimated 11 million Syrians have fled their homes, 6.6 million have been displaced within Syria, and 13.5 million are in need of humanitarian aid. Why has the war in Syria lasted so long? Mainly because it’s more than a civil war; it is a war between countries like Saudi Arabia, Iran, the US and Russia. Turkey is one of the few countries which have sheltered Syrian refugees and are trying to resolve the war.

The life of a Syrian is worse than death. The Syrians struggle every day to make both ends meet and still fail to provide basic necessities to their families. Food is considered a luxury and about 70 percent of the population is deprived of adequate drinking water. There is an acute shortage of medical facilities and more than 50 percent of the hospitals are out of service. Many European non-Muslims are sharing their homes with refugees and trying to rehabilitate them, so why can’t we do the same? The Syrian crisis is getting worse. If we cannot contribute financially and physically in alleviating this human crisis, we can at least peacefully protest against this brutal war.
